Bath Safety

A white shower chair with arms and back.

Most falls in your home will take place in the bathroom.  Wet, slippery surfaces can make this a dangerous room for people with mobility challenges.  You can protect yourself or your loved ones with a few simple purchases that will help improve safety in the bathroom.

Insurance coverage: None of these bath safety items are covered by insurance with the exception of a bedside commode in certain circumstances.  If your doctor writes you a prescription for a bedside commode, they will also need to write in your medical chart the following qualifying sentences in order for your insurance to make a payment toward a bedside commode:

“The patient is physically incapable of utilizing regular toilet facilities due to being confined to a single room and unable to ambulate to a bathroom.â€
